Hello. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with many years of experience providing psychotherapy and counseling to adults of all ages. I work with those encountering anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation and identity concerns, as well as struggles within family, work, and intimate relationships, and those facing difficult life transitions. A major focus of mine is working with those who have experienced psychological trauma, including veterans, survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, and victims of violent crime. I often work with dissociative phenomena that may result from profound trauma. As your therapist, I am willing to go where you may need me to - providing a solid, containing, and compassionate presence to re-visit experiences that may have been shattering.
My approach is primarily depth-oriented, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, and Dialectical Behavioral therapies. I understand how challenging life can be, even under the best of circumstances. So, my goal is always to meet you wherever you are on your journey. No matter how difficult things may seem, I will work closely with you, recognizing your unique strengths and challenges, so we can move toward a better future.
My clients come from all walks of life, social, sexual, and gender identities. My goal is to welcome all with respect and compassion for their unique journey, and create a safe space for our work. I bring to my work a profound respect for human differences as well as our shared humanity.
I received my doctorate in philosophy in 2012 from Syracuse University, where I taught and began doing philosophically-based counseling prior to my clinical training. I’m currently receiving advanced training in psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York. While I still enjoy teaching immensely, it has been an honor and privilege to move beyond the classroom to work with people more intimately.
I invite you to reach out so we can explore beginning a journey of healing and hope together.
