Money Matters

At Bryant West Psychology, money is discussed openly and transparently. We recognize the deep emotional issues often tied to money (power, dependency, control, greed, self-esteem/shame, etc.). So we strive to be upfront in our approach to money. We will explore the impact of fees on our relationship with you as such issues emerge, and keep the dialogue open (as with any other issue in psychotherapy).

Insurance and Billing

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paperwork-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductible and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways—check or cash.

In-Network:

Our clinicians may be providers in the following networks: Aetna, NYU Student (Wellfleet/Cigna), and Columbia University Student (Aetna). In this case, your insurance company sets our fees, as do your co-pays and deductibles. We will discuss this with you.

Out-of-Network:

We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fee (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won’t break the bank—that is, your bank.

Out-of-Pocket:

If you do not wish to use your medical insurance or are uninsured, we will do our best to work with you to set a fee that meets both your financial needs and our own. This may be what is called a sliding scale fee.

Should we be unable to work out a fee, we will help you find an appropriate referral to another provider or outpatient setting that you can better afford.
