Greetings. I have been practicing psychiatry for over 30 years, and have worked with adults with various needs and concerns through careful medication management, as well as psychotherapy. I have worked with adults between the ages of 18 to 99. Working exclusively in New York City has afforded me the opportunity to work with folk across the spectrums of race, ethnicity, sexuality and gender. I welcome all to my practice. People have come to me with mood disorders, mainly depression and bipolar disorder, as well as anxiety in its various forms, such as general, social and work-related anxieties, phobias, obsessions and compulsions, panic and specific situational anxiety. I work with people dealing with ADHD and ADD. I can also help those dealing with substance misuse who are willing to partner with me, in helping them to reduce harm and be more in charge of their substance practices.
If you are overall ambivalent or stuck with your current mental health treatment - medication or psychotherapy - and want a second opinion or consultation, I am your go to guy, willing to work with your providers , make recommendations, or let you know that it seems good to stay the course.
Our work together will begin with a thorough evaluation of your history and current symptoms. We will also discuss your mental health goals and priorities, so that we may come to an agreement on how to proceed. I hope that by sharing my practice-based experience (with over some 30,000 patients) with you, my ever developing expertise in psychiatry, we will come up with a treatment plan to best suit your needs. This plan may include medication, psychotherapy, or some combination of both. I will, of course, work in collaboration with not only you, but with your psychotherapist so that we can best reach your goals. In terms of therapeutic approaches I have training in EMDR, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and also utilizes CBT approaches and Jungian Psychology in our work if we agree to engage in psychotherapy.
Regarding my training, I received my medical degree from the New York City’s Mount Sinai School
of Medicine. I completed my psychiatric residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and my fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. I have been board certified in Psychiatry for many years now, having practiced psychiatry for over 30 years, having treated or evaluated
30,000 patients in various settings. I am most pleased to be working in an outpatient private practice, where I will be able to work closely with you.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions, or would like to schedule an evaluation.
