Licensed Clinical Social Worker
In Network: Aetna
When working with clients, I believe in meeting them where they are, collaborating with them in goal setting, and determining how best to achieve those goals. I am foremost a humanist in my approach to psychotherapy, profoundly valuing the authentic meeting of two people who, through the development of mutual trust, understanding, and compassion, can take on even the most difficult of challenges. I am passionate about viewing individuals and families through a holistic health lens and incorporating that holistic/multi-systemic lens in all my client work.
I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in school-based and community-based settings, doing individual, couples, and family therapy. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, and other relational interventions. I also focus on boundary setting and communication skills training when working with clients who need assistance with overcoming various mental, emotional, and relational challenges, such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma. I also focus on assisting clients with addressing the chronic stress of living within systems (family, peers, religion, etc.) that do not support the full expression of who they indeed are in their most profound sense of self.
I received my Master's in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College (CUNY) and additional training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). I continue seeking new opportunities to grow, challenge myself, and enhance my skills as a psychotherapist, which brought me to Bryant West Psychology.
I believe that taking the step to enter therapy to pursue healing and growth is a brave choice, and I look forward to joining you on that journey.
