Assessment Services in Midtown Manhattan, NYC
Psychological Testing and Assessment can assist in directing psychotherapy and medication services to areas most needed, and can identify learning, intellectual, social, and emotional strengths as well as challenges. At BWP, we use psychological assessment to guide treatment planning, psychiatric care, support diagnostic clarification, and assist individuals in obtaining appropriate accommodations or services across various life domains.
We provide comprehensive evaluations for children (including infants, ages 2.5+), adolescents, and adults, using a collaborative process that includes a thorough diagnostic interview, review of records (if applicable), a detailed treatment plan for the proposed evaluation, a comprehensive report, and one or more feedback sessions, again, depending on your needs.
Common Types of Assessments We Offer
- ADHD and Autism Spectrum Evaluations
Identifying attentional, executive functioning, or social-communication challenges across age groups. - Academic and Learning Disability Assessments
Diagnosing learning disorders and providing recommendations for school or testing accommodations (available for adults and older children). - Intellectual, Social, and Emotional Functioning
Comprehensive personality and cognitive testing to support treatment planning or clarify psychiatric diagnoses. - IQ and Cognitive Testing
Evaluating intellectual strengths and weaknesses to guide academic, occupational, or therapeutic decisions. - Neuropsychological and Brain-Based Evaluations
Assessing cognitive changes related to traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussion, dementia, or other neurological conditions. These evaluations assist with diagnosis, treatment planning, and tracking cognitive function over time. - Independent and Forensic Psychological Evaluations
We provide assessments for legal, occupational, or disability-related purposes. These include evaluations of competency, disability, fitness-for-duty, malingering, and work-related psychological injuries, among others.
Cost of Assessment Services
While some clinicians on our Assessment Team are in-network for Aetna (both Student and Commercial Insurance), as well as NYU Wellfleet, most of our Assessment Psychologists are not. If you need to see an in-network provider to contain costs, we will accommodate you as soon as we have availability, which may be immediate.
Most of our Assessment Services are billed out-of-network, and we will work with you to set an affordable fee (if possible) and assist with billing your insurance provider. Depending on your assessment needs, your out-of-network full fee will vary, but as a guide, you can expect the following costs for standard full assessment batteries. The price includes initial evaluation, testing, scoring, interpretation, report writing and feedback session. Again, your assessment provider may be able to keep costs down, which can be determined during your evaluation session.
