Psychological Testing and Assessment can assist in directing psychotherapy and medication services to areas most needed, and can identify learning, intellectual, social, and emotional strengths as well as challenges. At BWP, we provide psychological assessments to guide treatment, support diagnostic clarification, and assist individuals in obtaining appropriate accommodations or services across various life domains, as well as for forensic and independent evaluator purposes.
We provide comprehensive evaluations for children (ages 3 years+), adolescents, and adults, using a collaborative process that includes a thorough diagnostic interview, review of records (if applicable), a detailed plan for the proposed evaluation, a comprehensive report, and one or more feedback sessions.

Cost of Assessment Services in New York City
While some clinicians on our Assessment Team are in-network for Aetna (both Student and Commercial Insurance), as well as NYU Wellfleet, most of our Assessment Psychologists are not. If you need to see an in-network provider to contain costs, we will accommodate you as soon as we have availability, which may be immediate.
Most of our Psychological Assessment Services are billed out-of-network, but we will work with you to set an affordable fee (if possible) and assist with billing your insurance company. Depending on your assessment needs, your out-of-network full fee will vary, but as a guide, you can expect the following costs for standard full assessment batteries. The price includes initial evaluation, testing, scoring, interpretation, report writing and feedback session. Again, your assessment provider may be able to keep costs down, which can be determined during your evaluation session.
Approximate Out-of-Network Cost of Psychological Testing for Infants, Children, Adults and Seniors
Depending on the complexity of the referral question and the aim of the testing, an assessment can range from $1800 to $7800 for the initial evaluation (interview), administration of various tests, scoring and report writing, and one or more feedback sessions. After your intake session, your assessment specialist will provide you with their impressions and an approximate cost. again, based on the complexity of the referral question and time required to complete the assessment.
