Psychiatrist
I am a psychiatrist with a decade of experience, dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where individuals can address their challenges and work toward meaningful healing. My expertise spans a variety of psychiatric disorders, but I have a particular focus on depression and anxiety, which are often at the core of the work I do.
My approach to mental health is holistic, recognizing that true well-being extends beyond medication alone. I view medication as one of many valuable tools that can aid in healing, but it is not the sole answer. Foundational aspects of wellness, such as quality sleep, regular exercise, and balanced nutrition is important. Therapy also plays a vital role in helping you understand how your patterns of thought, behavior, and interaction with the world may be contributing to your symptoms. Together, we can create a comprehensive plan that honors various aspects of your well-being.
The therapeutic relationship I aim to build is one that is warm, collaborative, and rooted in mutual respect. I take the time to listen to your story and concerns, and I use my clinical expertise to offer tailored recommendations that align with your unique needs and goals. An initial evaluation doesn’t automatically lead to a prescription; instead, I work with you to explore the safest and most effective options for your care.
While depression and anxiety is the core of the work I do, I also have a special interest in supporting individuals in navigating their romantic relationships and providing guidance to mothers during the per partum and postpartum periods. My goal is to help you uncover your strengths, foster personal growth, and take an active role in creating a balanced and fulfilling life.
I graduated from Spelman College, earned my medical degree from the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine, and completed my psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
I look forward to working with you to become the best version of yourself. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule a consultation.
