Congratulations. Taking that first courageous step to address what may be holding you back in life, preventing you from achieving your goals and fostering healthy, supportive relationships, is a great start. I am a NY State licensed Psychiatrist, double board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry. My years of training and experience has prepared me to provide services to adults struggling with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, ADHD, bipolar illness, OCD, panic and eating disorders (manageable in an outpatient setting).

As a physician, medication remains a potential treatment option, though it is not universally suited for everyone, and this is a decision we can thoughtfully explore and make together. I am available for individual psychotherapy, but at Bryant West Psychology, I have some 45+ colleagues I may refer you to to best meet your needs for family, couples, or group therapy, and assessment services.

My approach to patient care centers on understanding your needs and aspirations. Collaboratively, we will forge a treatment plan that aligns comfortably with your lifestyle. I am always prepared to involve family or loved ones in treatment planning and provide any necessary education to support your journey. I rely on psychodynamic principles of psychotherapy, understanding the deep nature of many issues, but also offering pragmatic approaches to build skills, take gradual risks in trying new behaviors, and providing a relationship that is open, healing and hopeful.

My medical journey began in Canada, where I was born, raised, and completed my initial medical training. Subsequently, I relocated to the United States for advanced psychiatric training at Harvard's teaching hospitals in the greater Boston area. My pursuit of knowledge continued with further studies in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, including a research fellowship at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Center, followed by a second clinical forensics fellowship at a combined Columbia/Cornell University training program in New York. Post-training, I served as Director of Psychiatry, and later Director of Forensics and Education, at a New York teaching hospital before transitioning to private practice and other subspecialty work.

Please reach out to me so we can discuss our working together. I suppose that would be step two! Cheers.
