Ronald J. Saleh, Ph.D.
Board Certified Clinical Psychologist
In Network: Aetna
I am a licensed psychologist in New York State, a certified school psychologist, and carry the additional distinction of being board-certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). I have over 30 years of professional work experience in New York City with children, adolescents, and adults in various clinical modalities, including consultation, counseling, psychotherapy, and psychoeducational assessment. I am excited to be focusing my work on individual psychotherapy with adults at Bryant West Psychology.

I am eager to work with clients with diverse personal and cultural identities presenting with a wide range of mental health symptoms and problems of living. If you choose to work with me, I will welcome you into a safe space and encourage you to bring your concerns, thoughts, and feelings to me. I will meet you with empathy and compassion. I will use my wealth of experience, knowledge of psychology, recognition of our shared humanity, and psychological training to best help you through your struggles toward growth and greater fulfillment. As an evidence-based practitioner with broad knowledge of the science of psychotherapy, I will use my clinical expertise to integrate the best available practices in the context of your unique characteristics, culture, and preferences.

I am well trained to conduct psychotherapy from a psychodynamic perspective, which is effective for a wide range of mental health symptoms, including depression, anxiety, panic, and stress-related physical ailments. The work is also effective for people who are going through stressful transitions, dealing with loss and relationship struggles, as well as the challenges of work, school, and family. I take an integrative approach and strive to find common denominators between the different schools of psychotherapy.

I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. My doctoral training was at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. My clinical training there included inpatient psychiatry, college mental health, and outpatient psychotherapy with adults.

Working together, we will help you improve your mental health, sense of agency, and satisfaction with your life, be it at work, school, home, family, or other meaningful relationships. A successful course of psychotherapy will not only relieve your symptoms but also have the lasting psychological benefit of stimulating your natural abilities to regulate your mood, maintain the life changes you have made, and make additional changes even after therapy has ended.
